The Aerostich Tours Inaugural Expedition

August 4–19, 2006
Journey to the Edge of the Continent: Anchorage to Prudhoe Bay

FishWe are pleased to report that our inaugural expedition was a success. Seventeen riders from various disciplines participated in the two stage tour including our own associate, Randy Brody. Stage 1 riders rode North from Anchorage through the Alaska Range, by Mount McKinley and to Fairbanks. They continued through Circle Hotsprings, over the Yukon River and across the Arctic Circle to Coldfoot and finally to Deadhorse and Prudhoe Bay at the Arctic Ocean. They experienced beautiful mountain ranges, views of the Alaska pipeline and wildlife along with great offroad riding. A few brave souls from Stage 1 and 2 did the Polar Bear Plunge in the Arctic Ocean. Stage 2 riders rode South from Deadhorse through Coldfoot, over the Yukon River and across the Arctic Circle to Manley Hotsprings and on to Chatanika and the Alaska Range at Isabel Pass. Heavy rains resulted in an unexpected adventure due to a washed out bridge and alternative route to Anchorage. Amazing over-flood-stage river and stream views accompanied majestic mountain glacier views along the scenic Glenn Highway to Anchorage. Good times and great friendships made this tour a once in a lifetime experience.

“Seeing the breathtaking mountain views of Alaska for the first time was an incredible experience! The remote parts of Alaska are like being in a different world – postcard-worthy views are everywhere. The riding was exciting and challenging; everything from smooth paved sweepers to greasy mud baths along with rocky two tracks and stream crossings. Everyone came back from this tour a better rider. This tour was the biggest adventure of my life! WARNING: Taking one of these tours may result in a case of MTS (Multiple Tour Syndrome).”
