WARNING TO CANADIANS:

All Canadians renting a United States based vehicle, including motorcycles, must pay a 6% GS tax based on the value of the motorcycle. They must pay this in order to come into Canada. The value of the KLR is about $2,500.

Money:

Bring credit card(s) or spending cash for meals and gasoline on the road. Canada's food prices average roughly $10-$20 per full meal (without gratuity). The food along this tour is the same as anywhere you're used to, although Canadian prices are typically higher. Gas prices are about $4-$5 per gallon, and you will need approximately 3-4 gallons a day. The amount of cash you will need to bring differs from person to person; how much and how often do you plan to eat? Three full meals? Only breakfast and dinner? Only dinner with snacks in between? The amount you need is up to you. Plan to bring as much cash as you would for any other tour or vacation.

Passports:

All riders must bring their passports in order to enter into Canada.

Guides:

The guides accompanying the tour are backcountry first aid certified. They will be carrying cell phones and a satellite phone at all times.

Support Vehicle:

The support van will carry non-riders, tools, and spare parts for repairs on the road. It will also carry a spare bike on the trailer.

Laundry:

Laundry facilities are available at least every two days.
